mate.feed.kill.repeat.... only 1000 copies made in 1999, signed to roadrunner records, slipknot released...
their self titled debut album on 6/29/99... officially declared platinum on 5/2/00...
The album was re-released due to a pending court case due to "frail limb nursery" and "purity". It was released without those tracks, and with "me inside" instead. It had the same cover but with the bands insignia on the top. Also the CD art is the same with the exception of some red and black color switching.
their first home video, Welcome to our Neighborhood, released on 11/9/99 for $6 unless you went to a real rip off store.... Officially declared platinum on 2/16/00! contained Surfacing Live, the Wait and Bleed (Hard Version) video, and the uncensored unreleased banned from MTV video for Spit it Out. Plus plenty of interviews and an introduction to the members.
The Slipknot Digi Pack was released in late 1999 in England, it was made available in the U.S. only thru stores willing to import it. It contained all the songs from the re-release of the album, plus 3 bonus tracks... Get This (original song), interloper (EARLY DILUTED DEMO), and Despise (early purity demo... they rewrote it about purity knight).
Slipknot released their single for "wait and bleed" in England sometime in early 2000. Once again it was only available in the U.S. thru stores willing to import it.
Also Made available in early 2000, but this time as an american release was the vinyl version of the album. (For those of you youngsters who dont know what a vinyl is, its a old skool record!)... it came in Limited Edition Slime Green Vinyl. (The 2nd pic above is a closeup of the sticker on the cover art) |
